We recently heard from one of our wonderful renters who shared a simple, yet genius tip that we had never thought of before… and we just had to pass it along.
Here’s the tip:
When planning their move-out, they went to the U-Haul website and looked up the dimensions of different truck sizes. Then, they grabbed some masking tape and actually taped out the dimensions of the truck’s cargo area inside their storage unit—floor, ceiling, and walls.
Once the box was taped out, they packed their items within that space just like they would in the truck. This let them know exactly which size vehicle they’d need on moving day—no guesswork, no wasted space, and no overpaying for a bigger truck than necessary.
